Vijayanagara College Hosapet

Vijayanagar College was established in the year 1964 in the town of Hosapet, located in the state of Karnataka, India. It was founded with the vision of providing quality education to the students of this region, who faced various challenges due to the area’s socio-economic conditions. On the 1st of June, 1964, the college was officially inaugurated by Dr. Zakir Hussain, the then Vice-President of India, who played a key role in its establishment. During his inaugural address, Dr. Hussain emphasized the significance of education in transforming lives, particularly for students coming from underprivileged backgrounds.
Dr. Zakir Hussain expressed his belief that the college would serve as a beacon of knowledge and a stepping stone for the advancement of students in the region. He hoped that the institution would cater to the academic needs of students, enabling them to overcome the limitations imposed by their environment and create better opportunities for their futures. He envisioned the college becoming a center of excellence, fostering not only academic growth but also nurturing character, social responsibility, and leadership among students.
